Daniela Fischerova received her MD (1996) and PhD (2009) degrees from Charles University in Prague, and completed her specialty training at Klinikum Kaufbeuren, Germany (Clinical Oncology) and at Charles University (Obstetrics and Gynecology) before specialising in gynecology and obstetrics (first degree 2000, second degree 2004), and clinical oncology (2005) and gynecologic oncology (2011). Currently, she is an associate professor at the Charles University in Prague (Gynecologic Oncology Center at the General University Hospital and First Faculty of Medicine).
She serves as a Vice-President of the Czech Ultrasound Society in Obstetrics and Gynecology, is a member of a study group at the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Gynäkologische Onkologie (AGO), and a member of the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO), and of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS). She was a member of the scientific committee of International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG, 2008–2014). Her main area of clinical research focus is the utilisation of ultrasound in individual management of gynecologic cancer, and she participates in many international ultrasound imaging studies.
She has received awards for her presentations at the World Congress of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2007, 2010, 2012 and at the 17th International Meeting of the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology in 2011. She is also a two-time (2008 and 2011) recipient of the Ultrasound Imaging Prize for best scientific work awarded by the Czech Ultrasound Society.
She is the author or co-author of more than 43 articles in journals with impact factor, and additionally more than 50 original full articles in her native language. She has published 26 textbook chapters in international and Czech textbooks as well as one Czech-language textbook on Ultrasound in Gynecology and Obstetrics. She has SCI citations 332 (41 citated articles) and her H-index is 11. She is also active in the field of postgraduate education in ultrasound imaging of gynecological cancer, she has produced one educational DVD distributed by ISUOG and organises an International Workshop on Ultrasound in Gynecologic Oncology in Prague. She serves as a tutor for gynecologic oncology ultrasound of international visitors at the Gynecologic Oncology Center (28 fellows since 2007).
